Bodog Poker Review
Bodog Poker was launched in 2004 and is the poker arm of Bodog Entertainment, a media and digital entertainment company that offers a variety of different gaming services including an online casino and a bookmaking service for sports and horse racing, in addition to an international record label and television production division. As with other poker rooms that have associations with online casinos and sports betting operations, a portion of the traffic at Bodog Poker derives from their other gambling services and provides for many beginning players with very loose play.
Traffic at Bodog Poker is relatively light with approximately 5,000 players online at peak hours. Surprisingly, they host a relatively large selection of different poker games. The software at Bodog Poker is excellent, offering nice graphics and great functionality. One of their more innovative functions is their three in one mode which allows the player to view three tables in the same window.
If taking on pros is your thing, Team Bodog’s two sponsored (and coincidentally attractive) pros, Evelyn Ng and David Williams, regularly host their own tables and will be more than happy to accommodate you.
While their casino and sports betting services attract a lot of novice players it is important to note as one of the few online poker rooms that permit US players, there are a lot of very good online players trolling around the rooms which is something for the novice player to keep in mind as they make their way up the stake levels.
The majority of the traffic at Bodog Poker is concentrated at the lower limits where the action is very loose with viewed-flop percentages topping off at close to 60%. The action is quite juicy with lots of beginners and wild casino gamblers up to the $5/$10 limit tables. Beyond that, the competition begins to stiffen up.
Bodog Poker hosts a reasonably large variety of Texas Hold’em tables with tables offered from 2 to 10
